The E-Track TVET: Tech-Voc Tracking System is an initiative of TESDA- Region I to institutionalize the tracking of tech-voc graduates through the use of a computer-based tracking system. Tracking of tech-voc graduates will serve as a good monitoring mechanism to establish database on available skilled manpower and skills utilization among tech-voc graduates.
With the fast-pace development in information and technology, it is appropriate to utilize computer-based mechanisms in tracking tech-voc graduates to ensure wider coverage and easier management of data.
The use of the tracking system will cover the tech-voc graduates in all the training delivery modes, prioritizing the CY 2010 and CY 2011 graduates. However, the implementers may expand its tracking activities to cover their graduates in earlier years.
The institutionalization of the tracking system will be implemented by TESDA Region I together with its four provincial offices, seven TESDA Technological Institutions as well as the public and private Technical-Vocational Institutions in the region.
For TESDA, the institutionalization of a tracking system will facilitate the reporting of employment of graduates and will contribute to the delivery of at least 55% employment rate of tech-voc graduates .
For the tech-voc providers, their track record on the employment of their tech-voc graduates will affect their succeeding availment of scholarship programs.
The data that the tracking system will generate will serve as timely information on available skilled manpower and skills utilization among tech-voc graduates for program development.
The institutionalization of the tracking of graduates necessitates initiative, support and commitment among the stakeholders for the success of the task.
In a nutshell, tech-voc training is not an end in itself. Training is for gainful employment and increased productivity. This is the general objective of this tracking system.
